Mimino: Real Georgian Cooking in Yeisk

Hand-folded khinkali, Adjarian khachapuri and Kakhetian wine on tap — where we send guests for their first dinner.

Mimino is a Georgian restaurant in Yeisk. The kitchen was set up by a visiting chef from Georgia, and it shows — this is the real thing, not a tourist take on Georgian.

What to order first

On a first visit, start light: five beef-and-pork khinkali, an Adjarian khachapuri to share, lobio in a clay pan. Enough to know whether you're a convert, with room for dessert.

From the grill: lamb saddle skewers and chicken tapaka. Done properly — under a press, no marinade, just salt and Svanetian salt on serving. Crisp skin, the meat still juicy.

Wine and infusions

No wines by the carafe, but the bottle list is considered — Georgian wineries, Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Kindzmarauli, Mukuzani. If the territory is unfamiliar, the staff will pair a bottle to your order.

The other story is the house infusions: chacha, tarragon, mountain herbs, walnut. Served cold in 50ml pours — the right thing alongside grilled meat.

The room

Fireplace, low lamps, dark wood. Live music Fridays and Saturdays — duduk, guitar, occasional vocals. Weekdays quieter, conversation easy.

Booking through the hotel

You can book a table through us — at the front desk or with the concierge. An hour's notice is plenty on weekdays, but for busy weekends it's worth flagging earlier: Friday and Saturday evenings fill up fast.

Mimino is worth the trip for the food alone — one dinner isn't enough.
